Oils, acrylic or Watercolour?

He uses oils, watercolour and now acrylics, whichever feels most suitable for the subject and prefers a loose semi abstract approach to describes our surroundings and relationships with nature.

As both an artist and musician, he has travelled widely and his paintings are often a composite of different times and places with an added touch of imagination.

Approach

Nature is usually the starting point, but being guided by the evolving image, the unexpected happens. This is the enjoyment for him. Sometimes working without a specific subject, just a feeling of space or colour is enough.

Painting from Nature

He lives in Hampshire and can be by the sea or in the New Forest within a few minutes. Getting inspired from nature but uses it only as a starting point.
